New TED Talk: Building a National Homelessness Prevention Movement
In a new TED Talk, Destination: Home CEO Jen Loving makes the case for a national homelessness prevention strategy that stops homelessness before it starts. Building on Destination: Home’s work, which helped keep nearly 44,000 people in one community out of homelessness, Jen shares how we can prevent homelessness by identifying who is at high risk and providing rapid, flexible financial assistance before people lose their homes.
Right at Home is proving this prevention model works nationwide, working with local partners in 10 urban, rural, and Tribal communities to make prevention an essential part of efforts to end homelessness.

Every day, families all across the country struggle to keep a roof over their heads. Half of all renters in the United States cannot afford their housing while millions are at risk of losing their homes. But what if there was a way to prevent this?
As the housing affordability crisis deepens, more families are teetering on the edge of homelessness. Acting early is critical; without this, the historically high levels of homelessness we see today will continue to rise.
Right at Home, an initiative of Destination: Home, seeks to substantially reduce the number of individuals and families losing their homes, while redefining how America confronts homelessness. Together we can stop homelessness before it starts.
